miss popularity contest

have you ever been involved in a miss popularity contest? i don't mean that kind of competition where you are able to win prizes. i mean those popularity contests organised by your own friends silently. i seriously hate it. big time. i wonder why do girls have to be so competitive all the time? now i know why guys think that girls are such a nuisance most of the time.

gee, i hate it when both my friends ask me to choose sides. if i support any of them, the other party will think that i am betraying her. if i don't give an answer or at least i have given a vague answer, they want me to be firm and give them an answer. seriously, is there such a need? why do one has to win?

they compare everything from boyfriends to ex-boyfriends, from the gifts they get during festive seasons to the things they own using their own pocket money, from the careers they have to the side incomes they can earn. sometimes i do wonder how they get so much time to do such comparisons when i'm so busy with my work. even though they know that i'm busy with my work, they just have to call or sms me to get an answer. who do i prefer? *slaps them in the face* (in my mind, of course)

please spare me for the time being. please do not give me a heart attack by calling or sms me to ask me whether i prefer you or the other friend. that includes guys as well. i don't have the time to choose friends simply because the options that are open to me include:

a) if i'm unable to finish my work, i die;
b) if i've partially finished my work, i die;
c) if i don't manage to hand in my work at all, i die terribly.

so just leave me alone and play in the playground on your own. the next person to ask me to choose will definitely get scoldings from me as i've been bottling up lately. i'm in the point of exploding. gosh, now i do miss my crazy malacca friends. they don't ask me to choose, at least not those i'm close with during high school.
